Priorities into Action
The 2026 Leadership Forum defined shared priorities for preventing medication-related harm across Africa. Medicines for Africa is now taking these priorities forward through the development of practical projects and the Africa Patient Safety Compact—connecting institutions, patient experience and evidence to support action and learning.
Practical projects
MFA is developing projects to test patient-safety approaches in real settings. These projects will help identify what works, what needs to change and what is required to sustain improvements.
Africa Patient Safety Compact
The Compact is being developed as a shared framework for preventing medication-related harm, clarifying institutional responsibilities and supporting coordinated action. Its development will be informed by practical experience.
Contribute to practical action

Learning that strengthens action
Patient experience and learning from implementation will help refine the approach, inform wider collaboration and shape the road to APSS 2027.
